From October 2022, you may notice an increase of dust, noise, vibration and construction traffic around the Campbelltown Hospital campus, as decommissioning works commence on Building C, Gna Ka Lun and Waratah House.
Mental Health services will be located in the new clinical services building, over a number of levels and will include child/adolescent inpatient services, acute youth, acute adult with gender specific observation capability, and a new mental health intensive care unit.
As part of the staged opening of the new clinical services building, Campbelltown Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) will relocate to Level 0 of the new building on Wednesday 29 June 2022.
A range of key changes will come into effect from early June with commencement of the staged opening of the new clinical services building. From Monday 6 June, our hospital will have a new main entrance.
The new Campbelltown Hospital building opens in stages from early June 2022 and will include the main hospital entrance, Emergency Department, and a range of enhanced and expanded hospital services. There will be changes to the way you access some services.
From Wednesday 18 May, the pedestrian travel path to the Emergency Department from Parkside Crescent and the P2 car park will change.
From 5pm Tuesday 26 April to mid-May 2022, a section of the hospital's internal road network will be closed to allow completion of the future main entrance to the new clinical services building.
Due to the unforeseen construction pause and restrictions implemented in line with NSW Government COVID-19 Health Orders, as well as the recent wet weather, works on the P1 car park have been extended until mid-April 2022.
Works are now underway to construct a new campus entry driveway off Appin Road, adjacent to the P4 car park. The relocated entry point will provide easier access to the new hospital building currently under construction, and will replace the existing Appin Road entry from late 2021.
In preparation for the opening of our new Emergency Department in 2022, a range of works are required within the hospital’s P1 car park to support additional capacity and improved vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow. Access to the car park will be restricted until late 2021.
The NSW Government has invested $632 million in the Stage 2 redevelopment of Campbelltown Hospital, delivering contemporary health care services for the community.
